Global Seal of Biliteracy

CSN was privileged to be part of a select group of three distinguished schools to receive the Global Seal of Biliteracy before the January 1, 2019 official launch date. As such, there was an inaugural ceremonial presentation at the recent American Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Language (ACTFL) annual convention held in New Orleans. From the Global Seal of Biliteracy website:

"Proficiency in multiple languages has tremendous value in today's global economy. Whether you learned your language in a classroom, at home, or through other experiences, the Global Seal of Biliteracy celebrates your accomplishment and certifies you for your language proficiency in two or more languages. The Global Seal of Biliteracy meets or exceeds the requirements of all existing U.S. state Seal programs, and offers a uniform standard to recognize language skills at levels that are meaningful for academic and workplace environments. It allows recipients to showcase their language skills to any school or employer across state lines and national borders."

Seventy-eight CSN students, including those qualifying this year and those grandfathered in from last year, will receive a certificate and a medal.  Three CSN graduates from the Class of 2018 will receive multiple language awards: Maria Abood, Juliana Badra and Lea Schulz.  Congratulations to all!
