Water, Water Everywhere
CSN faculty members Debi Backes, Kelley Staber, Robert Haas, Deb Lefebvre, Jimmi Stevens, Cindy Preston, Brian Brumley, Colleen Potocki, and Laura Panek traveled to the Everglades in December for a day-long Everglades Restoration Educational Tour. Representatives of the Everglades Foundation led the experience, sharing information and stories on the history, science, and current condition of the Florida Everglades. LS teacher Debi Backes currently uses the Everglades Foundation curriculum in her science classes. MS and US teachers plan to learn, to explore, and to integrate the Everglades Foundation curriculum to strengthen existing programs. The Everglades Foundation Educational Tour was the beginning of a professional development journey which will be followed by additional teacher training. Our faculty never stops learning!
