Col. Bart Weiss Inspires Freshmen
On Friday, our Director of Athletic Operations spoke to the freshman class, detailing his road from Naples, to the Air Force, and back again. He never planned on flying planes, but it enabled him to do some very interesting things, including flying Air Force One. He wrote policy at the Pentagon, balanced the AF budget, and liaised with Congress. The students did not hesitate to ask him questions, which he answered in his usual direct manner. Some of his words of advice were:
- At some point in your life you will have to make tough decisions. Just fall back on what you're learning today at CSN.
- Take advantage of every opportunity.
- Be confident in what you do.
- Always do the right thing.
- Don't worry about what gets you into college – it's what you do when you get there.
- Follow your passion.
- Take risks – don't be afraid to try new things.
- Balance your life.
